WSQ Camera Operations for Filming

Module Overview

This unit covers the knowledge and application skills of the acquisition, testing and maintenance of the appropriate film and video camera equipment to meet production needs. Some of the skills cover include determine the equipment requirements of a production, inspect camera equipment for possible faults and damages, set up the camera and its peripherals, techniques of basic maintenance and safely storing and transporting of cameras, as well as safety precautions when handling the camera equipment.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Obtain all required camera equipment based on the requirements of the shoot
  2. Conduct appropriate tests and examinations to ensure functionality of camera equipment and kit configuration compatibility
  3. Maintain camera equipment to ensure it is in ready state for shooting

Who Should Attend  

The course is intended for general public, aged between 18-60 years old, mostly male, who are currently working in video production industry with little or no prior training but are interested to upgrade their knowledge and skills in this aspect.

  • Currently who are working in corporate communication/marketing department and would like to acquire knowledge and skills in videography and produce own marketing video
  • Interested to venture into videography and be a freelance videographer
  • Enthusiasts and hobbyists are encouraged to take this course as a kick-start to your filming ventures.
